What we can include.

  • New concrete pool surrounds
  • Replacement of existing deck areas
  • Stamped and textured finish options
  • Patio, walkway, drainage and trade coordination

Make room for more than the pool edge

Loungers, outdoor dining, equipment access and routes back to the house influence the layout. We discuss the usable deck area and where different activities belong before settling the outline. Larger outdoor-living projects can combine the surround with additional concrete work rather than leaving awkward transitions for a later phase.

Coordinate with the pool and its equipment

The deck meets coping, pool structures, plumbing routes and finished landscape levels. Responsibilities for these interfaces need to be clear before work starts. Share the pool contractor’s information and current plans so deck construction, inspection stages and access can be coordinated with the other work.

Discuss drainage, texture and care together

A pool surround is repeatedly wet and used with bare feet. We discuss the proposed finish and its care requirements alongside where surface water will go. Existing settlement or uneven areas require a condition review; covering them with a new surface does not establish that the underlying issue has been addressed.

Pricing the complete scope

What affects the estimate?

Deck area, removal, access around the pool, base conditions, drainage, steps and decorative finishes influence the estimate. Include coping interfaces and any connected patio work when comparing scopes. A replacement around an operating pool has different access and protection needs from a new installation.

Before we meet.

Start with the property address and a description of the work. These details help us prepare for a useful conversation:

  • Pool dimensions or drawings and the pool contractor’s contact details
  • Photos of the current deck, equipment routes and yard access
  • Desired seating areas, finish preferences and construction sequence

We discuss the scope and arrange a site visit. Your proposal identifies the included work, responsibilities and project-specific warranty terms. Changes to scope, cost or timing are documented before the changed work begins.

Questions about this work.

All project FAQs
Can you coordinate with our pool installer?

Yes. We discuss the deck scope and interfaces with the trades involved. The proposal should identify who is responsible for the pool structure, coping, utilities, deck and surrounding sitework.

Can you replace an uneven or damaged pool deck?

We assess the existing concrete, access and visible movement before developing a replacement or repair proposal. The scope should address relevant support and drainage conditions as well as the finished surface.
