Make the removal limits explicit

Mark the structures, surfaces and areas included in the request, along with anything that must be protected. Connected utilities, adjoining improvements and occupied areas can affect the approach. We review the site before committing to a removal method or treating the work as an uncomplicated equipment task.

Resolve prerequisites before work begins

Utility disconnections, assessment, permits and any material-specific handling requirements need assigned responsibilities. Do not assume that every demolition estimate includes each prerequisite. The proposal identifies Capitol’s work and any separate specialist scope needed before demolition proceeds.

Define the condition you need afterward

Debris removal, excavation, grading and preparation for new concrete are different stages. Agree on the intended handover condition so a cleared site is ready for the next contractor or construction phase. Combining removal and replacement in one review can make those boundaries clearer.

Pricing the complete scope

What affects the estimate?

Material, extent of removal, access, protection, handling, disposal and the required site condition afterward affect price. Photographs help start the discussion, but they may not reveal concealed connections or conditions.

Before we meet.

Start with the property address and a description of the work. These details help us prepare for a useful conversation:

  • Photos and approximate dimensions of the proposed removal
  • Items to preserve, known utility connections and site access
  • Your rebuilding plan and required condition after clearance

We discuss the scope and arrange a site visit. Your proposal identifies the included work, responsibilities and project-specific warranty terms. Changes to scope, cost or timing are documented before the changed work begins.

Questions about this work.

All project FAQs
Can you remove and replace an old concrete area?

Yes. We can discuss removal with new concrete and associated sitework in one scope. The existing condition, preparation and finish requirements determine the proposal.

Does demolition include every type of material removal?

No blanket scope should be assumed. Material-specific assessment or specialist work may be needed. Describe the existing construction so handling, exclusions and responsibilities can be established.
